Serial Changes in Cardiac Strain and Contractility After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients with Hematologic Malignancies

چکیده

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is occasionally associated with cardiac dysfunction during long-term follow-up. Global longitudinal strain (GLS) has emerged as an early predictor of cardiotoxicity cancer therapy; however, the serial changes in GLS before and after HSCT have not been elucidated. To clarify association between GLS, we investigated HSCT. We evaluated function 1, 3, 6 months 38 consecutive patients enrolled this study. Overall, left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) temporally decreased 1 month post-HSCT. LVEF completely recovered to baseline at 3 HSCT, whereas partially Except for five who died within months, values low EF group (LVEF ? 55% post-HSCT, n = 6) were significantly consistently lower than those normal > 27) any time These findings suggest that might be a decrease hematologic malignancies. Further prospective data will important understanding management HSCT-associated dysfunction.

Kinetics of engraftment in patients with hematologic malignancies given allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation after nonmyeloablative conditioning.

We analyzed the kinetics of donor engraftment among various peripheral blood cell subpopulations and their relationship to outcomes among 120 patients with hematologic malignancies given hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) after nonmyeloablative conditioning consisting of 2 Gy total body irradiation (TBI) with or without added fludarabine. While patients rapidly developed high degrees of d...

Serial measurements of cardiac biomarkers in patients after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

BACKGROUND Previous therapy with anthracyclines (ANT) and conditioning regimen followed by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) represents a high risk for development of cardiotoxicity. The aim of this study was to assess subclinical myocardial damage after HSCT using echocardiography and cardiac biomarkers--high sensitive cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) and N-terminal pro-B-type natriur...

Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

The introduction and evolution of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) could be traced back to 1950s, to the studies on interactions among irradiation, covering spleen and bone marrow from it and injection of bone marrow cells. Today, HSCT is considered a well-established, effective and promising means of therapy for various malignant and non-malignant medical conditions, both in chil...

Very Long Term Stability of Mixed Chimerism after Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients with Hematologic Malignancies

The objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of chimerism of all patients transplanted for hematologic malignancies in our unit during a 20-year period, alive without relapse at 1 year after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Chimerism was tested using short tandem repeat polymorphisms after separation into mononuclear cells and granulocytes by Ficoll density ...

HLA-matched unrelated donor hematopoietic cell transplantation after nonmyeloablative conditioning for patients with hematologic malignancies.

A hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) approach was developed for elderly or ill patients with hematologic malignancies that employed nonmyeloablative conditioning to avoid common regimen-related toxicities and relied on graft-versus-tumor effects for control of malignancy. Eighty-nine patients, median age 53 years, were given fludarabine (90 mg/m2) and 2 Gy total body irradiation. Marrow (...
